There are a lot of challenges when it comes to getting your kid’s school lunch ready. “Sandwich or pasta?” “Fresh or dried fruit?” “If I put a cookie in for a treat, will my kid eat her veggies?” “Is this lunch nutritionally balanced?” I’m sure that one or all of these questions have gone through your head at some time. But with all of the greater awareness we have about the environment and the effects of plastic on our kids’ health, the biggest questions may be, “what do I put the lunch IN? Is it BPA free? Will my child be able to open it?” And so on.
I recently got these Kids Konserve Lunch Bags and they’re awesome! As parents of young children, Kids Konserve founders Lynn and Chance were shocked by the amount of lunch trash being produced each day at their kids’ schools. How could they set an example of conservation for their children and empower them to be agents of change for the future if the way they were packing school lunch every day contributed so much to Earth’s ever-growing garbage pile? These savvy women researched reusable products and now produce a line of amazing products that dramatically cut down on waste, are made from the safest materials and send the right message to our children.
Lucky for us, Kids Konserve is offering four weelicious moms the chance to win one of their beautiful Waste-Free Lunch Kits (in either caterpillar or butterfly). Each lunch kit includes a recycled cotton sack, cloth napkin, stainless steel beverage bottle, food kozy and two food-grade stainless steel 8-oz. containers.
To enter, just leave a comment here telling me what kind of lunch you are sending (or sent) with your little one for the first day of school. Winners will be chosen at random.
For extra credit and if you want to be my BFF (with this being back-to-school and all), please take two seconds to tell me your thoughts to the four questions in the below link (quick disclaimer, this is me doing independent research — it’s not in any way advertiser supported).
